Google Photos Prepares Customizable Collections Tab

A future update to Google Photos may give users more control over their Collections tab. A new reorganizing tool is in development, allowing users to reorder or hide items for a cleaner layout.

The tool has been discovered in version 7.90.0 of the app, with a 'Customize' button appearing at the bottom of the Collections tab. This button opens up an interface where users can drag and rearrange folders to their liking, including hiding certain albums from view.

However, it's unclear when this feature will be implemented, as it may not make it to a public release. The framework for customization appears to be in place, but the app's data clearing resulted in the tool disappearing.

This development comes after recent design changes to Google Photos, including the revamped bottom bar on Android devices.
