Google Photos Prepares Pinned Shortcuts for Top-Level Access

Google Photos is reportedly working on a new feature that would allow users to pin their favorite media to the top of the Collections tab. This unreleased 'Pinned' feature was discovered in the version 7.90 update, where long-pressing folders or albums brought up a floating Pin option. Once pinned, these shortcuts can be accessed from a horizontally scrollable bar at the top of the app.

The feature also includes a dedicated Edit menu that lets users reorder their pinned items or browse organized library categories to customize their view. This build upon recent evidence suggesting Google may allow users to control the order of items in Collections. The new management interface would give users more flexibility and control over their media organization.

While this feature has not been officially released, its implementation in the current build suggests a potential rollout might be on the horizon. However, it's possible that such features may not make it to public release, as they can always be modified or delayed before launch.
