Google Photos Tests Toggle to Disable Enlarged Thumbnails on Android
Google Photos is testing a new feature that could alleviate one of its most frustrating changes on Android. The app recently started displaying enlarged thumbnails for certain photos and videos in the Day and Month views, creating an uneven grid that many users find harder to browse.
The feature, called 'Feature photos', automatically enlarges selected images within the grid when enabled. However, this can make the gallery layout look inconsistent and distracting.
Fortunately, Google is now testing a toggle that would allow users to disable this behavior and restore a more consistent thumbnail size. This option was spotted in Google Photos version 7.92.0, and it appears to target only the Day and Month layouts, leaving the Comfortable view unaffected.
