Google Photos Update Lets Users Disable Sticker Shimmer Animation

Google Photos has rolled out an update to its sticker feature, which now allows users to disable the 'shimmer' animation that highlights eligible subjects. The shimmer effect was introduced last year as a way to show users what part of the photo is being used for the sticker and make it easier to create stickers from their photos.

While some users may find this feature useful, others have expressed frustration with its distracting nature. In response, Google has added a new setting that allows users to turn off the shimmer effect when creating stickers.

To disable the shimmer animation, users can navigate to Settings > Preferences > Photo view and toggle off 'Show shimmer.' This change will allow users to create stickers without being distracted by the animation, making it easier to focus on their photos.
