Google Photos' Wardrobe Feature: AI-Powered Outfit Try-On Arrives
Google Photos' AI-powered Wardrobe feature has caught users off guard by creating digital wardrobes from their old photos. One user, an Android Police writer, discovered this feature and couldn't stop using it after a few weeks.
The feature, announced in April 2026, uses Face Groups to connect photos of people based on clothing, even without visible faces. It creates a virtual closet with categories for accessories, bottoms, tops, footwear, and more.
User can pick up to six items from their digital wardrobe and try them on virtually. The feature is not limited to one item per category, allowing users to get creative with their outfits.
The AI-powered try-on process takes about four to five minutes, and the user can regenerate the outfit or share it if they like it. However, saved combinations count towards Google storage, so users should delete unwanted results.
