Google Pics Revolutionizes Image Editing with AI-Powered Precision

Google has released a new web-based photo editor called Google Pics, which allows users to make complex edits to images with ease. The tool uses Google's Nano Banana imaging models and is available now to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers as well as Google Workspace business accounts on Business Standard and above.

Robby Payne, founder of Chrome Unboxed, tested the new editor and was impressed by its capabilities. He used it to edit a photo taken at a putt-putt course in Indianapolis, making several adjustments such as changing the signage, shifting the time of day, and erasing background cars.

The key advantage of Google Pics is that it avoids the 'generate-and-hope' loop that plagues many generative AI image tools. Instead, it breaks images down into modular, actionable pieces, allowing users to make precise adjustments while leaving surrounding elements untouched.
