Google Pixel 11 Falls Short of Expectations with Price Hike
The Google Pixel 11 is a capable and AI-centric phone that boasts a much brighter display and practical creator tools, but it fails to live up to its predecessor's generational excitement. Despite a price hike of $100, the phone's battery life remains stagnant, and benchmark power has not improved significantly.
The Pixel 11's standout features include an extraordinarily bright OLED display that can reach a peak brightness of 2,480 nits, as well as helpful Gemini AI features that make daily tasks easier. The camera tools have also been expanded for creators, including Magic Capture, which allows for automatic picture-perfect snapshots.
However, the Tensor G6 chip powering the phone continues to underperform compared to its rivals, with Geekbench scores averaging 2,664 in single-core and 7,347 in multicore. This lack of significant hardware upgrades and performance improvements makes it difficult to justify the higher price tag.
