Google Pixel Fold Abandons Crease
Google's next foldable smartphone, the Pixel 12 Pro Fold, will reportedly feature a crease-less display similar to Apple's upcoming iPhone foldable. This marks a significant upgrade for Google, which has been lagging behind other brands in this technology.
The current Pixel 11 Pro Fold has been criticized for its noticeable crease, but with the adoption of dual-UTG (ultra-thin glass) displays, manufacturers can create a seamless folding experience. This technology involves using two layers of UTG: one above and one underneath the OLED panel.
Not only Google, but also Oppo and Vivo are working with Samsung Display to incorporate this technology into their next-gen foldables. These brands will use Samsung's dual-UTG tech to eliminate the crease issue in their devices.
