Google Pixel Watch 5 Review: Beautiful Design, But Falls Short on Battery Life
The Google Pixel Watch 5 has been reviewed for its features and performance. The watch remains true to its design, being a smooth, round pebble on the wrist with no edges or protective bezels. It weighs 31 grams without the strap and is about twelve millimeters thick.
The watch has a high-resolution OLED panel that displays content at up to 3,000 nits, making it bright enough for any situation. The automatic brightness control usually works perfectly, although some content may be cut off at the top and bottom edges of the round display.
The Pixel Watch 5 can be operated via gestures, including a quick twist of the wrist away from the body to go back a step or make a notification disappear. However, the recognition isn't always seamless, and the battery life is where opinions diverge, lasting around two days with continuous use.
One of the standout features of the watch is its charging speed, which can charge the device half in a quarter of an hour and fully in about an hour via its own charging dock. The watch also has fitness tracking features, including pulse measurement, oxygen saturation, skin temperature, and skin conductance.
