Google Play Services Update Boosts Workout Route Accuracy on Wear OS Smartwatches
Google has released an update to its Google Play Services, which should improve the accuracy of workout routes on Wear OS smartwatches. The update, v26.31, allows for server-side processing of raw location data captured by these devices.
This feature is particularly useful for runners and cyclists who track their workouts outdoors. However, it's worth noting that users will need a cellular connection or Wi-Fi to access this improved accuracy on their smartwatches without cellular connectivity.
In addition to the Wear OS update, Google has also released a new Play Store version, v52.7, which includes improvements to the Top Charts page. Users can now open app details directly from this page on Android tablets and foldables.
