Google Plays it Safe with Nearly Identical Pixel 11 Pro
The Google Pixel 11 Pro is out, and it's nearly identical to its predecessor. The phone features a similar camera setup and design as the Pixel 10 Pro, with some notable hardware downgrades. One of these downgrades is a decrease in base storage from 16GB to 12GB of RAM, which may be a concern for power users.
Despite the lack of significant upgrades, the Pixel 11 Pro still offers solid performance and camera capabilities. However, for those using last year's Pixel 10 Pro or earlier models, there isn't much to get excited about this year. The phone's starting price is also $100 higher than its predecessor at $1,100.
The Pixel 11 Pro features an f/1.68 50-megapixel main shooter, an f/1.7 48-megapixel ultrawide, and an f/2.8 48-megapixel telephoto lens. The selfie shooter comes in at f/2.2 42-megapixel. The key upgrade this year is the larger 1/1.95-inch telephoto sensor, which features 30% better light sensitivity.
Google's new Tensor G6 chip powers the Pixel 11 Pro and its larger XL counterpart. While some may be disappointed by the lack of significant upgrades, others will find the phone's solid performance and camera capabilities to be more than sufficient for their needs.
