Google has announced its support for an electric semi-truck project in Texas. The tech giant will provide funding for 25 all-electric Class 8 trucks and the necessary charging infrastructure on a Houston-Dallas freight route.

The wider 63-truck project, which includes Nevoya and the Center for Green Market Activation, aims to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 92,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent over its contract period.

Environmental attribute certificates will enable participating companies to address logistics emissions while supporting zero-emission freight infrastructure. This model directs corporate climate spending toward electric heavy-duty transport and the required infrastructure.

The partnership uses pooled demand to improve the commercial case for zero-emission freight, addressing a persistent obstacle in supply-chain decarbonization. Collective procurement provides another way for companies to support lower-emission logistics, giving transport operators greater confidence that corporate demand will endure across the contract period.
