Google Powers Up Electric Truck Deployment with Texas Partnership
Google is partnering with electric truck startup Nevoya and the Center for Green Market Activation to roll out 25 additional electric trucks in Texas. The project, which aims to reduce supply chain emissions, involves advancing capital to Nevoya to accelerate its fleet deployment along a key freight corridor between Dallas and Houston.
The partnership will also create dedicated charging infrastructure to support the electric trucks. In exchange for their investment, Google will receive environmental certificates that it can use to claim emissions reductions for its sustainability goals.
The total project now involves 63 trucks and is set to launch in early 2027. The Center for Green Market Activation established a buyers alliance called GMA Trucking in 2023, which allows companies to participate in a procurement and book-and-claim system.
