Google Quietly Cancels Pixel Tablet Amid Software Support Pledge
The Google Pixel Tablet has quietly disappeared from the Google Store without any formal announcement. The tablet's store page was removed, and the entire 'Tablet' category was pulled from the navigation menu. Direct links to the product page now redirect away from the listing entirely.
According to reporting from 9to5Google, major retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy have also stopped selling the device. The Google Store has also removed accessories tied to the tablet, including the Charging Speaker Dock and first-party cases, which are no longer listed as available for purchase.
The Pixel Tablet launched in 2023, giving it a roughly three-year run. Users praised the device as 'one of the most underrated products Google ever made,' but also expressed frustration over Google's habit of retiring hardware and services with little warning.
Existing owners will continue to receive software support through mid-2028, but the removal of the Pixel Tablet from the market leaves a gap in the Android ecosystem. Details on any future tablet plans remain unclear, and it is not known whether Google intends to return to the tablet market.
