Google Reaffirms Sunnyvale Commitment with Office Complex Leases
Google has reaffirmed its commitment to Sunnyvale by signing lease renewals for two office complexes, Moffett Place and Moffett Gateway. The tech giant will occupy a total of 2.1 million square feet of office space, roughly the same amount as the Googleplex in Mountain View.
The company has leased five out of six buildings at Moffett Place, which amounts to approximately 1.5 million square feet of office space. At Moffett Gateway, Google will lease two seven-story buildings totaling about 600,000 square feet.
Google's decision comes as a contrast to its plans in Mountain View, where it has rolled back some of its office and housing commitments. The company abandoned plans for a mega-office complex in North Bayshore, which would have nearly tripled the existing office space on the property.
