Google Redesigns Commercial Search Results in EEA, Adds View Counts to Business Profiles

Google has introduced a new layout for commercial search results in the European Economic Area (EEA), which includes specialized units for comparison sites and direct suppliers.

The redesign, which was documented by Google Search Central on September 8, affects users in the EEA and features a hub outlining regional features across the EEA, Türkiye, and South Africa.

Aggregators receive a unit with the top-ranked provider expanded by default, but require feed or API work to be included. Direct suppliers get their own unit, which appears alongside an aggregator unit.

This change may impact rank tracking and Search Console data in these regions, as a regional decline may be due to the new results layout rather than a change in performance.
