Google Removes Visible AI Watermarks from Gemini Content
Google has introduced a new setting called Media Watermark in its Gemini tool that allows users to remove the visible AI watermark from their created content. This means that users can now create AI-made images, videos, and music without the Gemini logo appearing on them.
The new option is rolling out over the next few days and will be available for content made with Nano Banana, Gemini Omni, Lyria, and Google's Flow video tool. However, it's worth noting that turning off the Media Watermark does not make the file impossible to trace back to AI, as Google still adds its SynthID watermark in the background.
This change is a welcome move for users who want to create clean files without the visible watermark. While the SynthID watermark and C2PA metadata will remain inside the file, this new setting provides a better balance between user convenience and content authenticity.
