Google Revokes Access to Lord Of The Rings Films for Those Who Claimed to Own Them

Google has sparked outrage among movie fans by revoking access to digital copies of The Lord Of The Rings: Extended Edition Trilogy, even for those who claimed to have 'bought' them.

The films were purchased through Google Play in 2022, but users are now being told they no longer own the content and can't watch it online or offline.

When one user, ugoindownsaka1, complained about losing access, a Google agent replied that they couldn't provide a refund or gift card because the purchase was outside of the 120-day refund window.

The agent also suggested contacting YouTube, which is owned by Google, for assistance, even though the films were purchased directly from Google Play.

Users are taking to social media to express their frustration and disappointment with digital services, with some calling it 'a swindle to rule them all' and warning that piracy may be on the rise due to the lack of lifelong access offered by these platforms.
