Google Rolls Out AI-Powered Conversational Assistant at AdSense Help Center
Google has rolled out an AI-powered conversational assistant to its AdSense Help Center for all English-language visitors. The feature, which is currently in Beta, aims to assist publishers with education, onboarding, troubleshooting, and more. According to Google, the guide's responses may vary in accuracy, and decisions based on it are the publisher's responsibility.
The conversational assistant can be accessed through a floating widget on the AdSense Help Center page, which is triggered by a button labeled 'Let's chat.' Once opened, publishers can either type a question or select from a set of popular topics presented as shortcuts. The responses provided by the AI-powered guide carry an attribution layer, displaying the sources used to generate the answer.
Conversation history persists, allowing publishers to reopen previous conversations and check for updated responses. Sessions can be closed using an X control in the top-right corner of the panel. Publishers can provide feedback through various channels, including a form with an attached screenshot, thumbs-up and thumbs-down controls on individual responses, a flag control for inappropriate language, and a rating system after chat sessions close.
When the guide is unable to answer a question, publishers are directed to the AdSense Help Center or the Help community. In cases where access problems arise due to account termination or suspension, Google links to specific articles on accounts closed or suspended for invalid traffic. The accuracy disclaimer assigned liability to the publisher in case of incorrect answers.
The rollout coincides with a challenging period for Google's publisher business, as the Alphabet segment containing AdSense fell 4% to $6.97 billion in the first quarter of 2026 and slipped another 1% to $7.3 billion in the second quarter while Search advertising grew 17% to $63.3 billion.
