Google Rolls Out Gemini 3.8 Live to Enhance Search Live Conversations
Google has rolled out its latest AI model, Gemini 3.8 Live, to power real-time conversations in Search Live. The update is now live for everyone and brings several improvements, including more helpful responses with web links, fluid multilingual support, and more natural interactions.
The new model was announced by Rajan Patel, VP of Engineering for Search and Co-founder of Google Lens, on X. According to him, users will experience more helpful responses, complete with web links to dive deeper into topics, as well as fluid multilingual support that allows switching languages mid-conversation.
Search Live is a feature that has been available globally since March 2026 and had previously removed opt-in requirements. With the introduction of Gemini 3.8 Live, users can expect more natural and free-flowing interactions in their conversations with Search.
