Google Rolls Out Gemini-Powered Voice Features for Gmail, Docs, and Keep
Google has rolled out new voice features powered by Gemini to its Gmail, Docs, and Keep apps. These features allow users to carry out tasks without having to use their hands.
Gmail Live introduces conversational search to the inbox. Users can pose questions like 'What is my flight's gate number?' or 'What is happening at my kid's school this week?' and Gmail will search through the inbox to provide answers.
Docs Live enables users to create documents by using speech, arranging their ideas, giving the document a structure, and retrieving information from Gmail, Drive, Chat, and the web. This helps users reach a first draft more quickly and aids in adjusting the tone.
Keep Live allows users to talk their way through capturing, organizing, and improving their ideas so that they end up with structured and actionable notes.
The new features are being rolled out this week to subscribers of Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra. Business customers using Workspace will receive them shortly as well.
