Google Rolls Out Hotel Booking Feature Through AI Mode
Google has rolled out its AI Mode in Search to complete hotel bookings in the United States. The feature, which allows users to book hotels through Google Pay, is currently available with ten partners.
The rollout started on August 27, 2026, and includes major hotel chains such as Booking.com, Choice Hotels International, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Priceline, Trip.com, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
Users can book hotels by describing their trip and preferences to AI Mode, which will then return a visual list of options with guest reviews and key factors to compare. Once a hotel is chosen, users can select the 'Continue on Google' option to complete the booking through Google Pay.
The commercial structure of the feature is that the hotel or booking platform acts as the merchant of record and handles customer service, while Google processes the checkout.
