Google Rolls Out Motion Assist to Combat Phone-Induced Motion Sickness

Google has been working on a new feature called Motion Assist to help users deal with motion sickness while using their phones. The feature, previously known as Motion Cues, was first spotted in December 2024 and is now being rolled out to Android 17 devices, starting with Pixel phones.

Motion Assist uses visual cues that move in relation to the motion of a vehicle, such as a car or bus. These cues can be customized by users to change color, shape, and opacity, allowing them to find what works best for their needs.

The feature can be activated automatically when motion is detected, and there's even a Quick Settings tile for easy access. Users who have already received the update can find Motion Assist in the Google Play settings under the Personal & device safety section.
