Google Rolls Out New Features for Messages App on Android
Google has been rolling out new features for its Messages app on Android. One of the notable updates is the customizable attachments grid, which allows users to personalize their chat interface. The grid can be accessed by long-pressing on a message or image, and it provides easy access to frequently used features.
Another update is the redesigned read receipts, which now display in a single circle at the bottom-right corner of message bubbles. Users can swipe left to view timestamps and encryption locks, while right swipes allow for direct replies.
The Messages app has also been updated to include new chat themes, allowing users to customize their conversations with different backgrounds and colors. Additionally, Samsung is discontinuing its own Messages app in the US, and users will be automatically shifted to Google's RCS app.
