Google has announced that it will be increasing the minimum size requirement for product images in Google Merchant Center. As of January 31, 2027, all product images must be at least 500 x 500 pixels.

This change is part of an effort to improve the performance and visibility of products on Google Shopping listings. While Google recommends using images that are at least 1500x1500 pixels or above for optimal results, the minimum size requirement will still be 500x500 pixels.

Advertisers who have product images smaller than 500 x 500 pixels will see a warning message in their Merchant Center account stating 'Image too small' or 'Image too small due to upcoming policy changes.'
