Google Sheets Gets Major Font Upgrade with Dozens of New Options
Google has updated its spreadsheet app, Google Sheets, to support the full Google Fonts web font library. This means that users will now have access to dozens of new fonts for chart titles and subtitles, horizontal and vertical axis titles and labels, data labels, and legend text.
To access these additional fonts, users can select 'More fonts' from any font dropdown inside the chart editor sidebar. They can then search for, add, and apply the new fonts as needed.
This update also enhances font compatibility between Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel when importing and exporting files. Previously, importing Excel files with unsupported fonts resulted in missing or fallback font substitutions. This issue should now occur less frequently due to the updated support.
