Google Sheets Unleashes Interactive Dashboards with Canvas Feature
Google has introduced a new feature in Sheets called 'canvas' that allows users to turn their data into interactive dashboards with ease. Unlike traditional spreadsheets, which can be dull and unengaging, canvas enables users to transform rows and columns of data into mini-apps with just a simple prompt.
This innovation is made possible by Google's Gemini technology, which acts as an interactive layer on top of the data. It stays in sync with the underlying data and can be easily adjusted on the fly using prompts. For instance, users can turn a list of assignments and deadlines into an interactive board that helps track progress, set reminders, and visualize upcoming tasks.
Google has been incorporating Gemini smarts into its productivity apps for a while now. With canvas, Sheets takes it to the next level by turning data into interactive elements. The feature is available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in English, as well as to Google Workspace customers on Business or Enterprise Standard and Plus plans.
