Google Snags Spirit Airlines Data for $10 Million AI Boost
Spirit Airlines' data is set for a new lease of life after Google acquired it in an auction for $10 million. The tech giant outbid AI company Mercor, with bidding starting at around $5 million.
The data includes 100 million emails, 500 million Microsoft Teams chats, and 30 million lines of code. It also covers employee behavior, aircraft operations, and inventory management.
Google has confirmed that the data does not include any consumer or personal information, and will be scrubbed of personally identifiable information by a third party before receipt.
