Google Suspends NW Mechanical's Business Profile, Costing Company Tens of Thousands
NW Mechanical, a long-standing HVAC contractor in Woodinville, Washington, has been severely impacted by Google's suspension of its Business Profile. The profile was locked nine months ago and temporarily removed from public view, causing a significant loss in revenue for the company.
According to owner Andy Read, the suspension led to a 15% to 20% drop in monthly revenue over six months, resulting in a financial loss of between $300,000 and $500,000. The company was also forced to lay off four employees due to the lack of visibility and reviews.
An investigation by NW Mechanical's digital marketing firm found that the profile had been reinstated in July 2026, but was later suspended again. Anna Anderson, CEO of A-Squared Marketing, explained that Google Business Profiles are a crucial lead source for businesses, including HVAC contractors, and losing access to this platform can have devastating consequences.
Anderson advised business owners to work with experienced marketing agencies familiar with handling Google Business Profile suspensions. She emphasized the importance of strong documentation, including contractor licenses, photos of branded vehicles, and utility bills, to verify ownership and facilitate reinstatement.
