Google Tackles Travel Planning with New Features
Google has been expanding its travel features to make planning and booking trips easier. This push began in 2024 when Google brought Gemini into Maps to help people discover places and things to do.
In August 2026, the company added hotel booking, flight-price tracking, and points-and-miles information to AI Mode. This move brings Google's travel tools beyond research to action. The goal is to bring all moving parts of trip planning into one place.
AI Mode can now track flight prices while you chat, and users can ask it to check for fare changes and get email alerts. Gemini also remembers where important items like passports are placed and saves their locations in Find Hub.
