Google Taps Bollywood Star to Bring AI Within Reach of India's Non-English Users
Google India has launched a campaign to make AI more approachable for non-English speaking users in India. The campaign, called Google Gemini, features Shah Rukh Khan as a supportive friend who listens and helps people overcome language barriers.
The campaign targets the 470 million internet users across Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns in India, where language can be a barrier to confidence and opportunity. According to Shekar Khosla, vice president - marketing, Google India, technology becomes more effective when it stops being just a tool and starts becoming a companion in life's everyday moments.
With Gemini speaking multiple languages and behaving like a supportive friend, AI feels more approachable. The campaign positions Gemini as a friendly voice that listens, understands, and removes barriers without judgment.
