Google Taps Gemini 3.7 Flash for Enhanced Search Results
Google has started using its latest AI model, Gemini 3.7 Flash, in its search engine for subscribers to Google AI Pro & Ultra. The new model was announced on Thursday and made available globally last Friday. It is being used in Google Search's AI Mode, which provides more helpful responses based on user intent.
Robby Stein, a Google developer, mentioned that the Gemini 3.7 Flash model is better at following instructions and understanding user intent, resulting in more accurate search results. However, initial tests by Glenn Gabe and Gagan Ghotra showed mixed results, with some users experiencing improved performance while others did not notice a significant difference.
The new AI model is expected to fully replace the 3.5 Flash-Lite model on Google Search as the company removes the subscription requirement. Currently, the Gemini 3.7 Flash model is only available in AI Mode for paid subscribers and in English language.
