Google Teams Up with MN8 and Eos on 86MW West Virginia Solar Project
Google, MN8 Energy, and Eos Energy Enterprises are teaming up to develop an 86 MW solar project in West Virginia. The massive undertaking will be accompanied by 380 MWh of storage capacity to ensure a consistent energy supply after sunset.
The project is set to benefit Google's data centers in the region, which rely heavily on clean and reliable energy sources. Lucia Tian, Director of Advanced Energy Technologies at Google, commented that the collaboration aims to deploy 'round-the-clock technology solutions' to power their digital infrastructure while creating economic benefits for West Virginia.
According to MN8 Energy, the project is an integrated utility-scale solar system with both short- and long-duration storage. The innovative setup will convert intermittent renewable generation into a dispatchable resource, allowing for efficient energy supply.
