Morgan State University has partnered with Google Public Sector to establish an AI-driven research campus. The partnership, announced in a press release, will give Morgan State access to high-end GPU compute power and support work in areas like AI, cybersecurity, climate science, and health science.

The new setup will utilize Google Cloud platforms and Nvidia infrastructure, enabling researchers to speed up work on large language models and cyber tools. It will also support projects with real-world applications, such as using AI tools for traffic and urban mobility in Baltimore.

Morgan State University plans to run this work through its Obsidian AI platform, which was built by its own research team. The university's vice president of the Division of Information Technology, Timothy C. Summers, noted that the partnership is not just about adding new technology, but also about building the rules and systems needed to use AI safely and effectively.
