Google Teases New Pixel Hardware at Unconventional Evening Launch Event

Google's annual Made by Google hardware launch event is set to take place on Wednesday at 6PM ET / 3PM PT, with a celebrity host in Trevor Noah. The event marks a change from the usual early afternoon or mid-morning timing.

The Pixel 11 lineup is expected to be revealed, including the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Leaked images suggest that these phones will look largely the same as the Pixel 10 lineup, but with a few notable visual differences.

The most significant change is the addition of a 'HiLight' feature, which is expected to be customizable and may light up when you talk with Google's Gemini AI. The new Tensor G6 chip, rumored to use TSMC's 2nm process, could bring performance and power efficiency gains.

The Pixel Watch 5 is also expected to be announced, with leaked renders showing a design similar to the Pixel Watch 4 but in different colors. Specs indicate that it will have 64GB of storage, double the previous capacity.

Google may also launch the Pixel Tag item tracker, which could look like an oval shape and connect with Android's Find Hub network. However, prices for these devices are expected to be higher than before, possibly due to 'pricing adjustments' related to the memory crisis.
