Google Tests Gemini App Overhaul with Chat and Assign Buttons

Google is working on making it easier for users to access Gemini Spark on their mobile devices. A recent APK teardown of the Google app revealed that the company is testing a new feature with two buttons: 'Chat' and 'Assign.' The 'Chat' button will allow users to talk to Gemini, while the 'Assign' button will send messages directly to Gemini Spark.

This change aims to streamline the process for frequent users of both Gemini and Gemini Spark. Currently, accessing Spark requires opening the sidebar and tapping on it. With this new feature, users can quickly switch between talking to Gemini and sending tasks to Spark without having to navigate through menus.

It's uncertain when or if Google will roll out this feature, as a previously spotted 'Assign Task' option has not been implemented yet. The new feature appears to be functional, but its release is still pending.
