Google Tests New Search Results Layout in Play Store
Google has started testing a new feature in its Play Store called 'Expand Everything', which shows search results with expanded views by default. This feature is part of Google's experimental Labs section, and it allows users to toggle it on or off depending on their preference.
The old way of browsing the Play Store showed a small downward arrow beside each app's name, which, when tapped, revealed extra details like screenshots, ratings breakdowns, or brief descriptions without leaving the results page.
With Expand Everything enabled, this expanded view becomes the default for every result, and the arrow instead lets users collapse listings they don't need to see in full. This change means that users can now see richer information without extra taps, but it also eats up more screen space, pushing fewer apps into view at once.
