Google Tests Pink Highlights in Featured Snippets

Google is testing a new color for highlighting phrases in featured snippets and AI Overviews within Google Search. The new color is pink, which contrasts with the typical blue highlighter used by the search engine.

The discovery was made by Sachin Patel, who posted about it on X (formerly Twitter) and SEW. However, Schwartz was unable to replicate the test and expressed uncertainty about its significance.

This is not the first time Google has experimented with different highlighter colors, but pink is a new addition to their palette.
