Google Translate Gets Background Mode and Earpiece Support

Google has upgraded its Translate app for both iOS and Android devices. The new features include background mode, which allows users to run live translations in the background while multitasking or locking their phone screen.

The company noted that more than a third of live translation sessions now last longer than five minutes. To address this, Google has enabled background translations on its Android app, with iOS support coming soon.

Additionally, the Translate app now supports earpiece functionality for live translations, available on both Android and iOS devices worldwide.
