Google Turns Books into Interactive AI Advisors with Expert Intelligence
Google has introduced Expert Intelligence, a new feature in its Gemini Notebook app that allows users to import e-books and interact with their contents using AI. The tool supports over 100,000 titles from major publishers, including Penguin Random House and Macmillan Publishers.
Users can ask questions about the book's contents, generate infographics, audio summaries, or quizzes, and even view the full text within the Notebook interface. The feature also includes customized 'Featured Notebooks' created by 15 authors, including Michael Pollan and Steven Pinker.
Google has implemented access controls to ensure that only users who own a book through Google Play can use its content in a Notebook. If a user shares a Notebook containing a purchased title, non-owners will see it listed as a source but cannot view the full text or related information.
