Google Unveils AI-Powered Image Creation Tool for Workspace Users
Google has announced the launch of its new image creation and editing tool, Google Pics. The AI-powered tool will be available to all Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers and most Workspace business customers over the coming weeks.
Pics is built on Google's Nano Banana image generation and editing model and allows users to create images from scratch using a prompt. It also features advanced editing capabilities, such as isolating objects and transforming them without altering the rest of the image.
The tool will be integrated into Workspace apps, starting with Slides, Docs, and Drive, allowing users to edit images directly within these applications.
According to TechCrunch, Google Pics is similar to popular design tools like Adobe Express and Canva, but unlike these tools, it uses AI to create images based on artists' works. This marks a significant departure from traditional image creation methods, where designers often use software to create original work.
