Google Unveils Breakthrough Wearable Tech for Insulin Resistance Tracking
Google has unveiled its latest innovation in wearable technology - Health Guardian, a suite of tools designed to monitor vital health metrics. This new feature is not just another blood pressure or heart rate tracker; it promises to go one step further by monitoring insulin resistance and breathing patterns.
According to Google, the Health Guardian platform uses a combination of AI algorithms and sensor data from wearables like the Pixel Watch 3, 4, and 5, as well as the Fitbit Air. It tracks heart rhythm, sleep quality, and activity levels to identify trends in insulin resistance.
The feature is particularly significant as it has the potential to be a game-changer for people with diabetes. Google claims that its Health Guardian can 'passively track your body's energy efficiency and serve as an early warning system for your metabolic health.' Users will receive a monthly score alongside personalized advice on how to improve their numbers.
Google is also introducing a feature to detect breathing-related emergencies, which can cause a critical drop in oxygen saturation. This opt-in feature uses AI to monitor heart rate, motion, and altitude data to identify potential issues.
