Google Unveils Conversational Voice Features in Google Workspace
Google has launched its conversational voice features in Google Workspace, allowing users to interact with apps like Gmail and Google Docs by speaking instead of typing. The Gemini Audio models power this new functionality, which can interpret user intent and retrieve relevant information.
The launch is starting with support for Gmail Live, Docs Live, and Keep Live across the three apps. Users can ask questions like what gate a flight departs from or what's happening at their child's school during the week, and the model will read and retrieve the necessary information without users having to find the email.
Docs Live is about generating documents through natural language prompts, while Keep Live offers similar functionality for turning speech into organized notes. Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers get first access to Gmail Live and Keep Live, with Docs Live limited to Pro and Ultra subscribers.
