Google Unveils Gemini 3.8 Flash and Fairwind Cybersecurity Initiative
Google has released Gemini 3.8 Flash, its 'most intelligent' AI model, and launched the Fairwind cybersecurity initiative. The move aims to stabilize revenue growth through specialized high-barrier cybersecurity products amid intensifying competition in the frontier model sector.
The company's stock price fell over 10% last month due to market concerns about its model capabilities, bringing the cumulative decline to nearly 20% since late May. Google's competitors Anthropic and OpenAI have also unveiled new cybersecurity models and protective measures, signaling a marked escalation in the competition among AI giants.
Gemini 3.8 Flash focuses on long-cycle complex tasks, while Fairwind targets high-value defensive clients. The model supports a context window of 1 million tokens, a maximum output of 64,000 tokens, adjustable reasoning levels, and the same tool suite as its predecessor.
