Google Unveils Gemini 3.8 Flash with Enhanced AI Capabilities

Google has released two new AI models, Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, which are available to Pro and Ultra subscribers of its AI platform. The Gemini 3.8 Flash model is an upgrade over the earlier Flash 3.6 model and offers improvements in reasoning, coding, and complex tasks.

According to Google's benchmarks, Gemini 3.8 Flash is better at tackling long-horizon software engineering, knowledge work, complex legal workflows, financial analysis, and agentic activities. It also excels in multi-step reasoning across science, math, humanities, and professional fields.

The new AI model has guardrails to block misuse concerning chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and cyber offense lines of questioning. It is also better at resisting prompt injection attacks, which are engineered to try and get the AI to do something malicious.
