Google Unveils Its Oklahoma Data Center Expansion
Google has revealed itself as the operator of a massive data center campus under construction in unincorporated Tulsa County, Oklahoma. The project, known as Project Clydesdale, spans 506 acres and is expected to cost $1 billion. Initial phase development will create up to 100 permanent technical jobs and thousands of construction positions during the five-year build-out.
The data center campus will be powered by Public Service Company of Oklahoma through a new on-site substation funded by Beale Infrastructure, along with upgrades intended to improve transmission and distribution reliability across the region. Google has also committed to supporting workforce development in the area, including a program with the electrical training ALLIANCE.
The Tulsa County project is part of Google's broader expansion across the Southeast Census region. The company has invested over $15 billion in Oklahoma since establishing its first data center presence in the state and plans to continue growing its footprint in the region.
