Google Unveils Line Of AI-Enabled Laptops With Unified OS

Google has unveiled its new line of AI-enabled laptops called Googlebook. The device is an upgrade to the Chromebook Plus laptop and will become the foundational hardware for Google's agentic system, similar to Microsoft's Copilot network.

The main advantage of using a Googlebook over other computers is its unified Android and Gemini operating system (OS). This setup allows advertisers to easily follow a user's journey with permission from a mobile app to a desktop. The AI continuously monitors the user's workflow across apps and tasks, understanding the context of their task.

The combination of the AI-powered tools and integrated OS offers advantages for advertisers by addressing 'fragmentation' problems between systems. Googlebook has been described as a premium laptop powered by an Android- and Gemini-based OS with built-in security features. It will come with access to all Android apps, including those that have taken time to migrate from phones to Chromebooks.

Google is working with various manufacturers such as Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo to make the first Googlebooks available this fall.
