Google Unveils New Pixel Phones with Enhanced AI Features
Google has unveiled its latest lineup of Pixel phones, featuring slimmer cameras and more AI features designed to simplify user interactions. The new models include improved camera capabilities, such as a powerful zoom and automatic photo-taking with Magic Capture mode.
The search giant hopes to give users a reason to upgrade and expand the number of people using its AI tools. Forrester senior analyst Andrew Cornwall noted that Google has been steadily increasing the amount of AI on its Pixel phones since 2023, while Apple has been lagging behind.
New features include live translation for videos, podcasts, and voice messages, as well as a tool called HiLight that lets users assign a color to their favorite contacts and have their phone light up in that color when they call. The company is also offering a free six-month subscription to its AI Pro plan with the purchase of the more expensive Pixel 11 Pro or Pixel 11 Pro XL models.
The new phones start at $900 for the Pixel 11, $1,100 for the Pixel 11 Pro, and $1,300 for the Pixel 11 Pro XL. The company has eliminated the lower-priced option from last year's lineup, which had started at $800.
