Google Unveils Personalization Features Across Search, News, and Discover
Alphabet Inc.'s Google has rolled out new personalization features across its Search, Discover, and Google News platforms. The move aims to give users more control over content and help publishers build direct connections with readers.
The company has introduced an interactive 'Preferred Sources' button that publishers can embed on their pages. When readers click the button, it adds the site as a Preferred Source on Google and directs them back to where they left off on the publisher's page.
Users have already selected over 600,000 unique sources through this feature, and publishers can access the button code through Google Search Central documentation.
Google is also making it easier for users to customize their Discover feed by allowing them to specify topics or links they want to see more or less of. This can be done by tapping a three-dot menu and entering their preferences in their own words, with the feed adjusting immediately.
