Google Unveils Pixel 11 Lineup with Major Upgrades
Google's annual Made by Google hardware event is taking place in New York on August 12, and this year it comes with an unusually thin veil of secrecy. With official teasers and leaks from various outlets, most details about the Pixel 11 lineup are already circulating.
The keynote will be hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, along with a guest list that includes Stephen Curry, Alex Cooper, Shubman Gill, Peggy Gou, Jesser, JuJu Watkins, Chari Hawkins, and PinkPantheress. The Pixel 11 series is expected to consist of four phones: the standard Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
According to leaks, the new Tensor G6 chip will be a major internal upgrade for the Pixel 11 lineup. The chip is said to use a newer Arm C1 core, a PowerVR GPU, and switch from Samsung-derived modems to MediaTek's M90 modem. This could help address long-standing Pixel complaints about heat, battery life, and connectivity.
The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL are expected to keep their triple-camera setup with digital zoom reaching as high as 120x. New camera software will include an improved Cinematic Blur mode, video relighting, 4K/30fps capture, and Ultra Low Light video mode. The standard Pixel 11's camera specs remain contested among leakers.
The foldable is expected to have an 8-inch inner display and a slimmer folded profile of 10.1mm. It may gain a telephoto lens for the first time and the battery may actually shrink slightly to 4,750mAh, offset by the more efficient chip.
